what about oil control rings that are entirely widely gapped. My spec book says .008 and the kit supplied a gap of .035 on the wipers. and spot on with the spring ring

You said you placed it in the bore with the ends gapped. So do u gap em or you don’t touch them?

I always mount my pistons before putting on the rings - easier to do when using a rod heater, and my pin press is too yucky.

I’m confused. In other videos I’m sure you say the dimple goes up not down.

You edited the the video, but you did not correct yourself uninstalling the oil control rings. This could really confuse somebody on their first time doing this.
