Producer Story: In the 19th century a French Scientist named Jean Eugène Charmat, the inventor of the Charmat Sparkling Wine Process, fell in love with a widow in Vernay, France who helped him start his business: Vueve du Vernay, or in English. The wine is named Veuve du Vernay in memory of this love story. Region: Western France is a moderate to marginally cool grape growing climate able to growing many grapes ideal for Crisp Charmat Method Sparkling Wines when picked early and less ripe. The Winery is located in Bordeaux, France though the grapes may come from other neighboring regions as well..
