Hi Aaron, this is one of my all time favs. But I’m surprised about what you said, as this fragrance notoriously has bad performance. 2 hours tops and it’s gone. Unfortunately

Excellent smell….terrible performance I’ve had a giant bottle of this for 3 years and it’s totally full because after a few hours the smell is gone. :(

Performance aint the best when it comes to projection it sits close everything else i have performed better but this is a must have scent so well done.

I tried both Edp and Edt and it seemed the EDt was actually better with more projection and the smell was maybe a bit more aromatic

Easily one of my favourites and i rarely have favourites in fragrances. It lasts quite a while, maybe a bit too long for its intended use. (No its not a projection panty dropper beast, its not supposed to be).its a quality scent.

Bought a vial of this and it smelled horrible. I smelled it on someone else and same thing. Wish I knew why. Never had this much of a reaction to any other colognes.

I bought this fragrance online at a discount website - catch of the day I think it was called - and when I got it and sprayed it, I couldn’t smell anything. It was just like ethanol. So I presumed I had been done over.
Then a month later, I happened to be on the Gold Coast and I walked into David Jones and it was on display
so I thought I’ll buy one from a big box retailer and do a test on the assumption the big box retailer is not selling fakes
So I paid through the nose at David Jones got another bottle and I still couldn’t smell anything
All I get is Ethanol
And the other week I went to the dentist. I put heaps of it on and I jokingly said to the assistant. What do you think of of my aftershave
and she sniffed me and said I can’t smell anything.…….!!!

I have the TF Tobacco Vanille Eau de Perfume which has almost gone and now I have a bottle of this which arrived today. You are absolutely correct, very similar, very familiar yet very different in a good way. A very enjoyable fragrance to wear as an alternative to the TF. And for the cost difference it makes perfect sense. Your great insight as usual.

I find the understated performance of this to be a positive trait. It’s refined class in a bottle. Complaints about performance in the fragrance world are based on pure solipsistic group-think. I guarantee that whatever one of us thinks the sillage and longevity of a given fragrance are, the truth is it’s wayyy greater to everyone around you. Even if it’s not a fallacy, loud performance comes off as “pick me” and desperate. Less sprays is more. Don’t put too much thought into performance.

I’m not a fan of Vanilla-heavy colder weather fragrances, as I find them too sweet & cloying, so for me this is perfect.
There is more than enough sweetness, in this, from the naturals & aroma chemicals without needing Vanilla.
I find Tobacco Vanille to be a harsher & sweeter version of this (much more Tobacco & a lot of Vanilla); The One is a toned down & much more wearable version imo!
