2 track days, 18000klms out of my power road 5s, probably another 2k but double puncture seen the end to that, just put another set on, great tyre, lots of street and highway miles here in Western Australia through tough climates.

Jumping back and forth in your explication butween the two then bringing in two other tires from the lineup is super confusing, maybe a quick chart for Michelin tires would help, road 5, road 5 gt, power 5, power 5 gt, and where they should spend most there time. I know all tgese tires and im confused by this explanation! (With all due respect, i love your videos)

How do the Power 5 and Power Gp compare to the Power RS? Other than the percentage of 2ct strips?

I have the Power GP on my 08 zx6r. Great tire IMO, I dont have much experience with different tires but I have a lot more confidence riding on these than the pirelli rosso 2 that the previous owner had on.

French and Italian tire companies lead the way. French(Michelin) makes great road tires and Pirelli(Italian) makes the best track tires.

Had both on. GPs were destroyed in less than 1k miles. Power 5 are at the end now after just 4 months, no more than 1k miles again. Aggressive street riding only with one short track day. Bike is heavy though, maybe thats the problem. BMW K1300R

To all the people who said this review is confusing. Its really easy to understand the Michelin tyre range. If it has ROAD in the name its a sport touring tyre. If it has POWER in the name its a sports tyre. ROAD 5 100% ROAD SPORT TOURING TYRE POWER 5 100% ROAD SPORT TYRE POWER GP 50/50 ROAD/TRACK TYRE. POWER CUP 2 90% TRACK DAY TYRE 10% ROAD. ITS A ROAD LEGAL TRACK TYRE. Just be honest with what and how you ride and choose accordingly.

Is there did you make a Bridgestone s22 vs Michelin road 5 video? 95% street rider i may bring my bike to a track this summer switched from Bridgestone bt16pro’s to the s22 and 100% way better tire but id like to know what would last longer and get my miles worth and be able to put power down the road 5’s or s22

The Power 5 is a street sports tyre and seems to be in the same category as a Pirelli Rosso 3, loved the feel of the Rosso 3s and got about 8,500kms out of them. How does the Power 5 compare in both feel and distance to the Rosso 3s ?

Used these(Power GP) on my 05 ZX10R. 2 trackdays and 8000km on the road, still enough thread left, More then enough. Think i can get 11.000 out of them. And i ride pretty aggressive. Not too much highway. Gotta change the rear now, cause it cupped a bit at the right side. Really love these tires btw.

Ima pirelli angel GT guy, but im very disappointed on the GT2. They feel like the bike is slipping going over pavement like surfaces on the high way. Like how when you go over those patches on the road where they fill the cracks with. Regular GTs never had this issue. Even tho the GT2 is alot better as far as grip goes, that one con about them is irritating. Im willing to bet its the two center lines thats going around the whole tire. So im thinking about switching to ROAD 5.

Cbr600rr Just purchased my second set. Got 7k miles out of them and the front still has a lot of thread. Changing the rear .... got a flat on highway and thread is so low the plug isn’t holding. It was time to change anyways. 7k miles and aggressive sticky grip.... Can’t complain at all

These vs. Q3+. Sadly, kinda aggressive road riding on my 07 SV650S w/gixer front end and ZX10 shock. Need new tires, down to the wear bars on the rear and just got into the carcass on the right side.

i have been driving hard with the power gp´s. I can tell you, that grip level is amazing! 5 minutes av real fast curves/corners, real twisty too, with knee down almost every curve, the tires where like on rails to the ground, and it was only 13 degrees outside. most be in absolute top counting wit grip performance, hard riding both on the streets and track, and milage perspective. wow!!

I been running Michelin pilot power 2ct for years honestly I know they’re old but they have got me through rain dirt dust little oil I love the way they feel so this upcoming season idk what to get . I go as hard as possible on the street not to sound like a douche and need a tire upgrade

My understanding is that the 5 uses more silica while the GP uses more carbon. The 5 is sporty but the GP is sportier. This at least from what I was able to pull from Michelin themselves. The 5 also provides better rain traction compared to the GP.

This may be a dumb question but I’m Feeling like my local guys steered me in the wrong direction. I had a Power 5 on my front and they talked me into a Road 5. Did I just lose some of my cornering performance?

Have a 2021 mt 09 with the sp 22’s and love them but 3,400 miles later there already starting to square off on the middle. Love those twisties but take a little of straight road driving before getting there. Going to give the power 5 a shot.

April 27 2025

Composition is not the same. Power 5 is all silica, GP has silica on center and black carbon on the sides. Makes a difference!

Not sure why I missed this review. I am on my 3rd or 4th set on my 2020 Super Duke GT and they are amazing...AMAZING. I am getting about 4K miles on a rear which is pretty good considering some of the more aggressive Super Duke R and GT rider have gotten as few as 1200 miles... I am really hoping we will se a Power 6 soon. I have seen a couple of reviews on the Diablo Rosso IV (not available when this video launched)
