Up for review today is the Decathlon Quechua NonStick Stainless Steel 4 Person 24 Piece Camp Cookset and when it comes to value, there isn't much on the market which can rival what it offers.nnThis is impressive!nnThe review begins now!n...nMerch Store : nWant to support TOGR, buy a shirt, hoodie, hat, etc.nnMerch Store : https://the-outdoor-gear-review.myspreadshop.com/n....n100% Agenda Free : nThis channel is Agenda Free and is fully supported by the viewers. nnSupport TOGR through Patreon : https://www.patreon.com/TOGRnnornnSupport TOGR through YouTube : https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCpmbA7yNOl7aTj_ffkaWWag/joinn...nDecathlon Quechua Non-Stick Stainless Steel 4-Person 24-Piece Camp Cooksetn…nWhat it is : This is Decathlon's largest cookset that they offer and it is composed of 24 pieces in a 3.5L system. As you are about to see, this is a rather smart system here and the price, is excellent.nnAgenda Free Link : https://www.decathlon.com/products/camping-cook-set-stainless-steel-non-stick-coating-4-person-mh500?variant=18478317109310nnWho is Decathlon : In the US, this is a company that isn’t all that well know but outside of the country, it is a major name within the outdoor industry. In fact, it is the largest sporting goods retailer in the world! nnDecathlon is a French Sporting Good retailer; they have over 1697 stores in 60 countries. nnVersions : Decathlon offers a number of different cook sets; each varying in size greatly and components greatly. nnThere is a 2 person 2.1L kit, a 4 person 2.6L kit, a 1.6L 2 person kit, a 1.1L 1 person kit and so on.nnMeasurement of Kit : 9.1” x 6.5”nnMaterials : n304 stainless steel - doesn’t oxidize and prevents corrosion.nnDouble aluminum layer base - this diffuses the heat and increases heating efficiency, reducing the amount of gas needed to cook.nnPolyamide cutlery nPolypropylene plates and cuts - BPA Free PlasticsnSilicone heat matnnIncluded : nStorage Bagn2.5L Potn1L Skilletn4 cupsn4 bowl platesn4 sets of cutlery (3 pieces each)nStrainer lid nRubber heat resistant coaster nnWeight : 3.6lbsnnCost : $60nnReview Pros :nThis is a very smartly designed kit; the way that it goes together is very clever. nFor what you receive with this kit, the overall size is quite small.nPrice is excellent for this kit - I’ve seen plenty of kits that include less that costs more.nHigh quality - for the money I would expect much less. nNon-stick potsnAluminum core pots help with excellent heat distribution nCleans up nicelynSturdy cutlery- nDurability has been excellent - I’ve had this kit for almost a year and it looks almost brand new - there is some discoloration on the bottom due to heat but that is to be expected.nnAluminum Cores : Just in case you don’t know, cookware can be made in numerous ways, for an example, it can be solid, single layer stainless steel or it can be multi-ply. Often called encapsulated cookware - nnThis is a multi-ply cookset as it features an aluminum center core in the bottom; aluminum is highly conductive and evenly distributes heat. Much better than stainless steel or copper.nnCons : nThe rubber hand grips on the size of the 2.5L pot need your attention; be aware of them and make sure to extend them before use - they could melt if you don’t raise them.nnCups are a bit weird in terms of shape and it is awkward to drink from them - you have to turn them a certain way to drink from them or the contents will spill out.nnSome of the Colors are weird nnSummary :nIn my opinion, this is an awesome kit and for the money I’m more than impressed by it. It’s well thought out, is self contained and for an overland set, car camping or a set in a cabin, this is perfect.nnFunny story, the first time that I used this kit, a friend and I were about to fire up the stove and get dinner going. I grab this kit, start pulling out the components and my buddy says to me, just how much **** is inside of that pot? Lol This buddy was in the Marines and his language is colorful….always! Lol He’s a lot of fun to take to parties….watching the expressions of the people he talks to is priceless….most are accustomed to hearing such language. Lol nnIt’s not complete in my opinion as you will need a few other utensils to cook with but it’s an excellent start if you are looking for a system like this. nnIt’s too heavy to use as far as backpacking goes….or at least, that is the case for myself. n...nWeb Site : http://www.theoutdoorgearreview.comnnCome Join Us on Facebook, Twitter Instagram :nnFacebook : https://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Outdoor-Gear-Review/281509538652229nnTwitter : https://twitter.com/OutdoorGearRevnnInstagram : https://www.instagram.com/theoutdoorgearreview/n.....

Decathlon is very decent. There is one around Tokyo as well. Finally a decent company for outdoors. Coleman is almost the only big brand in Jp, so the prices are high in comparison to USA or UK.

I picked up some of the cups on their own. A single cup is large enough to hold a Trangia burner and will then stow inside the Trangia 25 series kettle. :-)

The only thing I dont like about decathlon is replacement parts to save waste. I had a cheap portable table. The stitching failed and one of the poles went missing. Would not send a replacement cheap pole or even just the top had to send the whole thing back to landfill and then get a replacement for free. Also the tents that pop up are really heavy and had mine break twice.

I discovered Decathlon a couple of years and got the 2 person version of that cook set. The nonstick surface makes clean up so much easier. Great equipment for a great price. I also purchased my tent, tarp, and a kitchen unit from them. All really well designed.

Good review. I’ve recently gone back and watched a couple of your old stuff with your kids. So cool. Hard to believe they are all grown and off on their own adventures. Can see both of you in both kids.

Luke, oddly, a lot of the gear you test is in the “dead zone“ between the luxuries of car camping and the challenges of backpacking. Example; my Tokes 750 mL pot and BRS 2000 ultralight stove, or a frying pan and two-burner camp stove. Why would I want something between those things?

April 24 2025

  michiganmoto7687

With all that plastics on it is it campfire safe? I cook over real fires not a camp stove.

I’ve seen this kit in the store and I was sad I was already equiped with many components taken here and there to make my kit. I didn’t want to buy a new kit making the old one obsolete for no reason. But still, it looked so good I was really tempted…

Do you have access to Decathlon Quechua tents ? (MH100 fresh and black or the more expensive ones) I really want to know are they water proof :) this is the only store I have access for camping gear ..

There are some clver details in the design of the components. The metal bottoms are clad to sandwich an aluminum bottom layer between 2 stainless steel layers. That will heat more evenly, and will stick less. The plates have grips. The silicone fastener doubles as a trivet. The lid fits the pot or pan. The entire thing holds together as a secure , non-rattly bundle. Very clever.

I use the same cook set. its a great set! as for the color, i believe the Europeans have weird colors, even their outdoor clothing and shoes have weird colors. as for the outdoor folding spatula and ladle, Decathlon sells them separately and comes with a folding cutting board and small wash cloth in a pouch…

Thanks so much for this product review video! I found this cookset absolutely amazing! One thing to bear in mind after my first experience using the saucepan with the lid, is that the lid can get melt if the fire source is very strong and broad. I have the lid peripheral got slightly melted.

I bought a one liter pot last year and the lid was really crap. It melted while preparing noodles and glued to the pot. I threw the entire thing into the trash bin. Really disappointed.

The holes in the side of the plate and cups, will they fit the handle of the silverware to hold it vertically? Maybe so you dont have to set your silverware on a dirty log or ground? Stir coffee set the spoon in the handle hole while you do something else temporarily or in the plate while you have a drink with dinner.

I have watched this video many times and really would love to give it a try, only problem is that the link to check it out leads to CAN. And they don’t want to or cannot ship to me in MI. I would be using it for car camping and to go with my winter disaster/Power Outage problems during the winter months.

If this has already been covered in the comments, I apologize. According to the Decathalon website, the non-stick coating is made of Polytetrafluoroethylene (known commonly as Teflon), which is a forever chemical. Not knocking the channel or review, just trying to help. Thanks for sharing!

They now have a stainless steel version instead of the plastic utensils
