Ficha Técnica e Modo de uso:
Informações do Produto: :Copic made a big mistake when they created the Earth color family. If you've ever struggled to color with brown alcohol markers, you can thank the E marker family for causing your confusion. Illustrator and art instructor, Amy Shulke shares a bit of color theory for brown alcohol markers. Brown is not the color you think. Change your approach to Earth markers to improve your blending combinations and add greater artistry to your coloring projects. Note this is not a coloring tutorial and not a marker blending lesson. We're exploring applied color theory as it realates to Copic Markers. This one looks like it’s going to be fun to color! Great info on ‘browns’.
I often wonder how they come up with the name….Copics come from Japan, but I see Orange Pekoe tea color in this….do they have Orange Pekoe tea in Japan? Are they actually thinking of a different tea? Which one is it? Just my random thoughts on a Friday….lol

This was a revelation! My brain knew that there was something fishy going on with brown, but I was too busy following the crowd to do any kind of actual research. Thank you for unmuddying (haha) this brown confusion for me.

I had a huge “lightbulb” moment when you talk about the mother ink having more and more solvent added to get lighter and lighter markers. It always felt a little off seeing Copic families listed light to dark - to my eyes and brain it feels WAY more logical to see the families starting with the mother ink. And your last remarks about storing E’s with their siblings totally makes sense! I’m off to rearrange markers now

this is SUCH a good explanation of the concept of brown. It explains it in a way I’ve never thought about but it crystallizes so much. I’ve even recognized that a color I’ve called or thought of as brown is more of a muddy green or yellow or something, but I hadn’t thought about it enough to make all the connections you’re making here. No wonder every weird mix of colors turns brown. It’s more of an adjective or a modifier than a color, isn’t it? We just don’t have many words for the sort of shades that occupy that murky, often dark, desaturated but not desaturated enough to be gray, space, so brown is the umbrella we put it under.
