To this day, many fans of Mass Effect and Dragon Age (partly) blame this game for the downfall of their franchises.
BioWare was never really able to recover from this disaster, as a lot of their talented developers were basically forced to make a game that wasn’t really what they wanted to make, and a lot of them either left or were let go.

I had to make another account so I can even play it because I had it downloaded on my main account. I played it for about an 25 minutes that I logged off For an hour, and then when I came back to try logging in the game, my screen was just blacked about two hours

I have literally only just learned of the existence of this game from seeing its gameplay featured in another unrelated video. The game graphics look really good. Such a shame that the actual gameplay has all the depth of the shallow end.

I just downloaded this game bc it was like 3 bucks lol. If I feel it sucks it wont be a total loss. I just mostly wanted to get some more gameplay footage for my channel

The only way I could see a revival of anthem happening is if it went big on a different media platform so that way the game could be reestablished it would have to be that that is already drawing in enough money though so it would have to be something like a movie or TV series that catches fans and people new to the franchise alike in the feeling that you have of the game and that you have within the playstyle of each individual javelin streaming along better story, but still having that rich lore and the feel and world that the game started to establish if you could take it onto a different media platform and run make the stories over there get people hooked maybe you could revive a game maybe.
One of my favorite scenes from that game is when the armies are fighting at the beginning of the game there’s a cut scene and it shows a bunch of different javelins fighting together. You could have large scale wars with AI driven video and make a great movie out of it very easy or show. It’d be even better though if there was an actor or somebody who’s well-known who’s willing to pick up the mantle of leading the charge for something like that , but anyways that’s my two cents.

anthem could of been amazing. literally if they switched it into some kind of futuristic scifi monster hunter world type of game it would of been a success. instead of melee focused weapons in a prehistoric type setting. ur in a mechanized scifi setting hunting monsters to get material for armors, skills and guns. like that could of been something i would be down for so long as the AI is good. AI and enemy design is everything

This game is actually pretty awesome. And the visuals are beautiful. If you’re too good to play this, then go back to Fortnite. This game was too good for us l. We weren’t ready to accept it into our rotation. I have a feeling once it’s gone, it will be missed and there will be a bunch of whiners crying that they killed it. Anthem 2024!!! 4 more years , 4 more years , 4 more years.

This game copied tribes arial assault (it bothers me that i have not seen anyone else mention that over the years). All they needed to do was drop the story mode, drop the open world and add CTF, DM, TDM and CAH multiplayer and this would of went from 0 to hero

I played on pc at launch and dropped it right after the campaign. I may buy it again for ps5 just to experience it again. The world and flying around was very satisfying. They easily could have salvaged this game into something so much better.

It is a shame, with some adjustments and overhauls it could be a really good game.

8:36 this review seems to forget this wasn’t a single player game. It’s just a destiny style game. The things you think are bad for a normal BioWare game don’t make sense for destiny style game. It’s pretty obvious that the team leads had no idea how to make an “endgame” or even a mid game for that matter. They spent tons of effort on base systems and it shows but as soon as you try to get past the story its stalls hard. And I say that as someone that loves the game. That being said I think anthems biggest damage was people comparing it to BioWare single players it’s inane and pointless. No one compares destiny to single players because it’s not the same type of game

anthem was a great game that fell flat because people got greedy, yes theres a lack of end game but thats because you beat the fucking game? instead of bitching about no replayability, the fans should have shouted and demanded a worthy sequel. the whole point of the game was to be iron man and the game did that QUITE well. "modern games" are a bunch of recycled rebranded garbage from 10 years ago vomiting the same bullshit it has been for the last decade. anthem was a brand new ip that dared to break the norm and give gamers something they didnt know they wanted so badly until we saw it for the first time.

i was looking for an excuse to justify the fact that i am re-installing Anthem for the first time in 4 years for one part nostalgia and one part i must hate myself… This was supposed to be the destiny, division killer of killers coming from a beloved and reputable BioWare game house…and it had all the makings, even if it was a rocky launch, and felt somewhat early access, and we definitely did not get a $60 game at launch. Not the one that we should’ve gotten, but all that aside, even if it would have taken time, patches, and big updates, it would be going strong today right at the top of the genre, if not the top…

This game was released during my break from games. So I never got it. But it looks to me from this video like a better looking, better designed, First Descendant. And that game only held me for 40 hours before it was too repetitive same missions over and over. I see the exact same problems with First Descendant that you mention for Anthem. Its a shame because it looks beautiful.

Speaking for myself, I got this game two weeks ago. I love this game for the single player open world. I put in 5 hours every time I play Anthem.
I hope somebody picks this game up from EA. They need to revive it and make it a single player open world game with more content.
