love the artist paint, just picked up a tube of winton Titanium white Interested too see how it is next to the Artist Titanium white.

From what I see you placed more pigment and less white for the artist grade. And with the color you are using, a tiny difference in the amount will affect the color greatly. Just my two cents.

Which one is better

Also worth mentioning: Using Lead White paints of artist quality or better will "preserve" the color of the original paint better than if you use the same proportion of Titanium White. Theres few places that sell lead white colors, but thanks to that most of them are pretty good quality.
A great artist I knew once said: "I sometimes use Titanium White...I ALWAYS use Lead White."

They say never use zinc white. It has a bad reputation. It cracks and yellows.

Can I mix them?

Why would people want better tinting range? What is it good for?

Ive been using Winton oil colours for several paintings. They are perfectly fine for general use, and if you mix colours carefully with good pigment choices, you will get lovely vibrant hues. Obviously it wont be the same as using the artist grade paints, but the value for money with Winton is excellent.
