I'm really looking forward to all of these. This is the one I'd be most critical of - faux chest and stumpy proportions in car mode. Still looks to be the best attempt at a movie Hot Rod so far. I don't mind paying Voyager prices for a Deluxe with an accessory pack but I don't think the accessories are enough to justify the price difference - throw in Hot Rod's sword and shield from the combat drone training scene, a coronation set for Earthrise Starscream, a pistol and lightsaber for Megatron and maybe a matrix on a chain for Galvatron and I'd be happier about the value proposition.

It's the size of Ironhide, but more complex in transformation and articulation. That alone already puts him out of deluxe price range, but then there's the integrated features, the articulation that's actually above regular voyagers, and the numerous accessories. Unlike both ER Cliffjumper and Optimus this is a time where we get a figure smaller than it's class scale that actually legitimately does fill in the price point. This is a definitive buy for me, thanks in part due to your review.

I have the cheaper Titans Return version, I can't believe they make SS figures from something else, not just Bayformers. I hope they do Prime next, or Animated.
When I saw the review for this guy before he was officially revealed, it sparked my purchase of the siege and earthrise lines. That was also before kingdom and the other 86 movie bots. This is the Hotrod we always should have had and I'm super excited and very jelly that you already got one in hand. The only thing I hate with this figure is the yellow panel in car mode on the roof. lol Loved the review!

My favorite Studio Series G1 figure is G1 Autobot Jazz. He looks spot-on cartoon model-accurate in both car and robot modes. The only nitpick I have with the figure is that he has the wrong number in car mode.
