Epoxy can peel off if steel from too fine if sand profile, not enough film build left on the panel (usually the case) or an amine blush.

Etch primer fantastic adhesion, in this sequence..bare metal, then filler work then etch primer..
Epoxy also great adhesion, bare metal must be sanded .. and no finer than 120 grit,
Sequence, epoxy, then body fillers then epoxy again followed by primers ..

Do you spray it on after taking a car down to Metal to prevent rust and before doing bodywork or blocking. I know that it’s preferred to use after bondo but if I’m taking my time to do bodywork I’d imagine that spraying in on before hand would help from car sitting up and rusting if you not in a rush to do bondo work. Just a rookie question

My buddy laquered primered my pick up truck year back.
Now i decided to paint it and i scuffed the cheap primer with 320 and 2k primered over it and now.2k primer starting to flake off
Like the lacquered affected it

If you don’t mind me asking what kind of sprayer air system you got going on there? If I seize it correctly, it doesn’t look like it has a tank on that sprayer with the tube that leads to that generator looking thing if I am to produce quality like you, then I gotta have the same type of gear

Show us the self etching primer I know this might sound like a redundant question is there any use for using a metal prep that hatches the primer before hand or at least vinegar or you just jump right into the primer

The dust mask IS NOT gonna protect your lungs when painting cars. Organic vapor from paint/solvent will help you be brain dead very soon.

Hey Bondo Billy Help!! Man I think I screwed the pooch I use rustoleum self etching primer on a 320 grit painted surface and when I went to wipe with wax cleaner it just came right off with that being said what did I do wrong

Billy, I stripped my car bare and got the major rust cut out/welded.
My question is I need to primer area and do body filler as well. I’ve heard self etch makes body filler peel at the edges. Is this why you said in this video that you will go over the self etch in another type of primer?

How long can you wait to paint the car after applying etch primer? In other words, if I’m working on a project car, section by section, before painting the entire car, will the etch primer degrade over time?
