Man, I need to get back into it. Prior to covid, I was all into classic style, dressed well every day.
Then covid happened and nearly everything I do professionally switched to being done online, and it hasn’t gone back. As an example, yesterday I had a meeting with a large client’s in-house attorney and multiple of their engineers. We are all local to one another. The meeting was conducted via MS Teams, with the cameras off, and us using screen sharing to discuss things. Prior to 2020, this meeting definitely would have been in person, with me in a suit. Instead I was in my home office, in a t-shirt and sweat pants.
Today, same thing with a different client.
Sigh. I feel kind of like a slob.

Best part is definitely not having to think about what to wear the next day. Classic menswear has this template of trousers + dress shirt you can easily build an ensemble on top of, while many, especially more alternative and creative styles can have problems in that regard.

It is true, someone will notice.
I went to a concert the other day, and decided to dress like a gent, somewhat casually, but like a gent. I felt a bit out of place because everyone was wearing either all black or just plain comfortable/scrubby. A man came to me and said "wow your shoes are amazing" (I was wearing brogues). I felt amazing by that little compliment.
