This is how everyone does it every day in India but it’s so much simpler!
We just add milk into the container with the last bits of yogurt. And leave it for like 7 hours overnight. And that’s it lol
April 22 2025
Lol this is the most common way how ppl make yogurt. I thought everyone know this.

I’ve done this but I used a commercial yogurt starter. I’ve always read that most commercial yogurts don’t have much in the way of active probiotics left due to shelf stabilization.

Pov:you watched this RIGHT after you ate the last bite of Greek yogurt

Actually you dont have to strain it, you can just eat it. In my country the people usually does it that way. We also have the strained yoghurt but for daily basis, the normal one is more common.

This is so cool! But unfortunately yogurt is actually cheaper than milk where I live

Yea but yogurt is like 3 bucks fun project though if you have the time

Why are you using the empty plastic yogurt container, for the good bacterias?

Americans learning how to do yoghurt at home in 21th century is amusing

The "thick gooey substance" is eaten with suger syrup/a traditional candy syrup in here:)

April 22 2025
all you need is a couple of days, a couple of drainings…it is worth it
April 22 2025
So should I also not throw out the last bit of the newly made yogurt too
April 22 2025
Doing this exceeds the costs and labor needed to go to the store and buy yourself another bucket of the stuff
April 22 2025
Due to being told NOT to eat the last bit of yoghurt, I will now lick that container clean and eat it all
April 22 2025
Pro tip: never do this with raw milk. Sincerely, an idiot who gave herself food poisoning by trying to make yogurt with raw milk.
April 22 2025
Okay, but, a fresh package of yogurt costs less than six cups of milk.
April 22 2025
Hmmmmm As good as that sounds I think I will just go to the store to buy some more
