- I use an inexpensive graph ruled composition notebook. I get it cut down to a more manageable size for me (around 9”x6.5”), round the corners, and cover the front and back with clear contact paper or clear packing tape. I attach an adhesive pen loop to the back cover (I leave the adhesive part covered with paper and tape it down with packing tape so it can be reused over & over). It’s very lightweight and convenient and fits in my bag. Office supply stores like Staples and Office Depot will cut down notebooks for a small fee, or you can do it yourself with a blade and cutting mat.

Wow, very nice! Do you have favourite felt pens that you use? I’m asking on the supposition that is is a Hobonichi, and I’m wondering what felts don’t bleed through, but maybe it’s not?
