Informações do Produto: :“Guitar playing for me is a way to express myself through one of the most expressive instruments I think we have. Apparently, I am a maximalist when it comes to songwriting. I can't explain it. It's just what I wanna hear. It's how I've decided I'm expressing myself.” Watch as Tosin Abasi talks about his history with guitar playing and how it shaped him as a musician and a creative artist in this latest episode of Ernie Ball String Theory.  Learn more about the Music Man Kaizen guitar here: https://www.music-man.com/instruments/families/guitars/kaizen Tosin Abasi relies on Ernie Ball Regular Slinky Paradigm electric guitar strings to get his signature sound: https://www.ernieball.com/paradigm String Theory is a web series from Ernie Ball that explores the sonic origins of some of music's most innovative players. You see folks, Tosin let you in on a little secret. As he said "In the words of Malmsteen - more is more." Yes, yes it is. It always will be the mantra to follow. If you truly want to stand out, you need to come in strong like a raging bull to shake things up. Makes my heart sing when musicians admit that it is ok to express themselves, especially when it applies to complexity and overshadowing those not so bold around them. Fantastic episode Ernie Ball. 5/5!

I respect him as a player and innovator and I honestly love the Abssi branded guitars but most prog isn’t for me, but maybe that has to do with my skill level idk(I’m not that great). But it just sounds like music for musicians not average listeners. Intervals and Polyphia do a good job of both.

One of the most unique and important guitarists to ever play. It’s so awesome to see the generation of guitarists he inspired. To me, hes a perfect of example of using your influences to create and spark a new approach to an instrument that’s been played for hundreds of years.

Ernie Ball: *Make a high A4 string that can be pulled sharp with a whammy bar to C#5 without breaking on an A E A D G B E A 8 string so that the guitar has a 6 octave range from A1 to A6 at 24th fret high A string. This will most likely require a multiscale Floyd Rose with a 25.5" to 23.5" fret fan.* Not all of us guitarists want an 8 string to play in the same octave as the bass. Some of us want to sweep and catch the high A string while still being able to do traditional Floyd Rose techniques while having access to drop A tuning. Thank you.

The guitar solo is dead. Guitarists can’t improvise anymore. They write solos. Practice them. Perform them 1,000x. Record the best take. Mime it on camera and call it a day. Cats like Gambale, Holdsworth, McLaughlin, Lane, Bucket, Howe, Govan, can improvise solos at the highest level. Off the top of their head. That’s gone from modern guitar.

It’s great to hear “origin” stories of musicians whose music I don’t really listen to, because the commonality between us is there. I like Tosin, and have a high regard for him as an artist; I’m just not into his music. I haven’t really cared about “shredding” since I was 13. I feel I was gaslit into “liking” certain bands and certain genres of music back then. It was the combination of peer pressure and having the threat of being labeled as a “pu$*y music” listener. When he spoke on being focused on learning techniques, I kinda laughed out loud, because I never did. I always learned new techniques when I needed to learn them…what I mean is, not until I had an idea in my mind that I could not pull off on the instrument would I attempt to nail a new technique. If a song I had written called for a sound I was after, then I would just play until I got that sound. I hope this makes sense…
