9. Brake drag. While this is often overlooked and affescts mostly disc brakes, brake drag is a real problem that affect gas mileage.

It was found that the ethanol-glycerol blend at the ratio of 3:1 (75/25%) can be directly applied as a substitute fuel for either gasoline or ethanol in internal combustion engines in the automotive and power industry

I had cars ranging from 1.0 to 1.8 and Im always worried about economy but what I learnt shocked me abit. The 1.8 Civic I had was almost the same as the 1.0 Yaris. You would think smaller engines use less but my guess is that they require more revs to get going whereas bigger engines can achieve the same speed at lower RPM. Ofcourse there is a sweet spot ( probably 1.6/1.8 depending on the engine technology ) but there is not much of a difference like mentioned between big/small engines to a certain extent. Ignore those claimed figures, I have almost 20 years of real world experience on about 10 different cars and learnt these lessons.

All of those modifications like sensors, feul injectors and so on, on paper make the car more effiient, but they fail and end up making it less efficient, more expensive to maintain and take up more of our life concerning ourselves with them. I was just doing the maths.

Enjoyed your informative video. It would be also informative and of interest to the public at large to state the "estimated" general percentage increase in fuel consumption expected for each of the numbered reasons. Also, which is the most common mechanical cause of high fuel consumption i.e. driver or road conditions not in the loop. RSVP Cheers.

I had a bad MAF sensor in my Toyota Corolla 2007 inspite of regular visits to the mechanic’s nothing resolved the ignition and stalling problem. After a lot of research on web I learnt about MAF sensors and the way to clean it rather than replacing it. I took a chance and brought a bottle of acetone from the medical store, removed the MAF sensor and poured the whole bottle (acetones)in an open container and submerged the MAF sensor in it and covered the container tightly so that acetone does not evaporate. After 15 minutes I used an old tooth brush and cleaned it thoroughly. Allowed it to dry for an hour and reconnected the sensor and ever since then it has worked perfectly. It’s been 4 years now and it’s still working flawlessly.

Hello everyone. I recently bought daihatsu Move 2017 model. 70k km on odo. Im getting really poor fuel average which is not more than 10 km/l within Sialkot city. I got it tuned from a reputed mechanic of sialkot city. Got its injectors, all sensors, intake manifold, throttle body, plugs and even catalytic converter cleaned and used High octance petrol in it but still im not getting more than 11.5 km/l average. I need your expert opinions what should i do to increase its fuel average?
