Great introduction of Carmenere! Does it taste more like Left Bank or Right Bank of Bordeaux?

I love Merlot; I don’t care for Cabernet. I love the soft, fruit flavors of Merlot; I don’t care for the tannins of Cabernet. Crossing the Merlot with a Cab to get the Carmenere works, but I still prefer a straight Merlot. To me, the Carmenere often tastes like a Malbec. I’ll stick with a straight Merlot or soft Malbec. I was looking for Carmenere in Florida but it is not very common (Publix ex). Now, I know that I have to go directly to a Winery or a Liquor Store.

I lived in Chile for 3 years. This was my favorite wine by far. Casillero del Diablo is known as good brand there. There was also a brand called Las Mulas, that I enjoyed. This is an outstanding wine and I have tell people about it whenever I can.
