WOW. I am doing my bathroom with Pergo Waterproof right now and I tried that but does not work with this brand. Thanks!

There’s 2 types of click lock that one an the drop in butt end type which is much easier
April 23 2025
100% depends on the product. Read the instructions of the product you’re installing. Don’t go to YouTube first

They need to just add the adhesive back to the back of that vinyl flooring it will be way more easier install. I guess the luxury is, that you have to struggle to install.
April 23 2025
Depending on the flooring of course you can with that flexible crap lil
April 23 2025
Best tip would be to work from on top of the new floor. Ur body weight hold things solidly in place and gives you more leverage.
April 23 2025
Nice. Are you installing on a basement slab? If so, why did you choose to not place 6 mil poly under the flooring? Thanks.
April 23 2025
How many packs did you used for a room that size sir? I’ve used 4 packs and it’s barely covered anything and I have a room around the size in the video. Help!
April 23 2025
Looks the first way would be much easier than fumbling around with the end going in first. Is all to avoid a tap with the mallet?
April 23 2025
Still have to tap it to make sure it’s all the way in. I use a scrap piece cut in half to insert it in the groove so you don’t damage anything. But it definitely needs to be tapped in. I guarantee that not every joint is fully locked in with your method. If the plank doesn’t lay flat, it’s not fully seated
April 23 2025
Depend on the model that you chose. 2 different model, so 2 way to clip them together
April 23 2025
I literally just tried this and it works so much better. My flooring is around 1/4" thick with padding
April 23 2025
No shit. I figured this out doing it for the first time in my kids bedroom.
April 23 2025
Thank you for creating & posting your video. Saved me time & money!

The panels that can be locked together by simply pushing by hand must be incredibly sloppy in the joint. The waterproof brand from Cali has to be smacked into place. Also, there is absolutely no "click" that can be heard. I find it interesting that nobody mentions the BRAND fhey are working with. Not all locking systems are the same, for crying out loud.
April 23 2025
I have a concrete slab also. Although my LVP has a backing, most installers tell you to get a moisture protecting underlining for extra protection, Its not for cushion, its just that concrete holds moisture. I lived in a house that had parquet flooring on a slab and moisture got under and buckled all the flooring.

Noticed no vapor barrier on cement floor is that ok thought to prevent mold etc you needed that
April 23 2025
IF your planks are that small, then sure. The ones I used were wider and longer than that, and I know that method definitely would not have worked out well for me.
April 23 2025
I absolutely hate that stuff. I can install wood flooring twice as fast. Anyone know what brand has the best locking mechanism?
April 23 2025
Do another video of the same floor in a couple of months as it falls apart please......it will be fun to watch !
April 23 2025
yea. not all sit in that easily and hammering is still required for some pieces. best is to take a scrap end, cut it and use it to hammer the planks into place.
April 23 2025
This is the way the flooring company told me to install the planks as well
April 23 2025
one other way ive done it, take a left over piece you used to stagger, and use that as a bridge. Connect the piece long ways to the adjacent piece and when you need to connect the short ends, slide the spare piece over the previous piece and use that as a guide to click in place
April 23 2025
@Seth Hotchkiss, could you show us how to install & cut over floor vent / register
April 23 2025
Yeah a little wiggling and lifting manipulation is all it takes. I never understood why people hammered the shit.
April 23 2025
When you install floors long enough, it gets easier and easier to do some brands with no mallets or hammer/blocks lol !
April 23 2025
Your in a square room lol and your sitting in front of your material your installing holy shit amateur hour. Go into a hallway and show everyone how you click your boards in that way going under the door jams haha plus the manufacturers manual will guaranteed tell you to use tapping block and mallet to make sure the board is actually clicked in properly. I wish people would stop showing really bad install videos. Unless you know what you’re doing stop posting videos you’re doing no one any favours.
April 23 2025
I agree. I do not want to pound/force any joint unless absolutely no other options
April 23 2025
It is finesse, not force that makes it go together. I learned that the hard way. (You only need to tap to snug it together.)
April 23 2025
Maybe next you’ll learn about the vapor barrier you’re supposed to use over concrete.
