Informações do Produto: :In this video we will cover everything you need to know about Clarithromycin, also known as Biaxin. We will discuss how and when to use it, we will cover its side effects, dosage and much, much more. Generic name: Clarithromycin. Brand names: Biaxin or Klacid. Available as a tablet, modified release tablet and suspension. How to use it? - Tablet: just swallow it whole with half a glass of water. - Modified release tablet: you can also swallow it with some water, but then make sure not to crush the tablet, nor chew on it. As it is covered with a protective layer. Damaging this layer might decrease the effectivity of the tablet. - Suspension: add the right amount to a cup of water, using a measuring spoon or cup. Drink the water. Furthermore it is best to take Clarithromycin at a fixed time, this makes you less likely to forget a dose. When to use it? Clarithromycin is part of a group of antibiotics called Macrolide. They can be used to treat infectious with several types of bacteria. For example: - Infections of the respiratory tract, like a pneumonia. - Infections of the skin, like a wound infection. - And gastrointestinal infections, like a stomach infection. What is the correct dosage? The precise dose will depend on your specific indication of use, the side effect you might experience and the severity of your symptoms. Therefore always use the precise amount and frequency your doctor prescribed you. - However, when treating most infections in adults your doctor might prescribe your regular tablets of a dose of 250mg 2x per day. In severe infection this dose could be increased to 500mg 2x/day. - When your doctor prescribes you modified release tablets it will be 500mg 1/day or in severe infections 1000mg 1x/day. The usual treatment duration is 6-14 days. What are the side-effects? - Common (1-10%): nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, abdominal pain, change in taste, headache, skin rash, insomnia and liver function test abnormalities. - Uncommon (0.1-1%): hypersensitivity, palpitations, less hunger, inflammation of several organs, dry mouth, flatulence, constipation, dizziness, drowsiness, tremor, muscle pain, anxiety, nervousness, nosebleed, impaired hearing, itching, fatigue, fever, chills and chest pain. Safety: First of all there are no limitations for this drug regarding the usage of alcohol or driving a car. However, clarithromycin can have interactions with other drugs your are taking. always discuss this with your prescribing doctor. Thank you,this was very informative, I have somekind of bacteria in my gut and just go described amoxicillin and clrithmycinum.... my side effects are that I want to throw up alll the time, eventhough if I take them with food , antibiotics overall have always made me feel very bad...but I wouldnt say thatthey cause me insomnia....I take zopiclon and xanax but in the daytime when I take my antibiotics...yeah I feel pain in my stomach, I want to throw up and so on but I also get VERY sleepy....I have insomnia so I never sleeped before but now with this antibiotics I even fall as sleep in daytime

Goede morgen, a doctor in Netherlands prescribed this antibiotic for skin infection 2x 500/dag, however I see my infection is over and I do need to eat this strong antibiotic, i did not have any wounds just only pimples. I cannot sleep and feel like my heart beet strong!

Hi, i loss appetite since doc prescribe me. i had on going cough which xray show lung opec opaccfication which i required to see specialist for further test. while wait for the date the doc give me clarithromycin 250g together cough cyrup. but i appetite had been reduce after that. is it the effect

I had try this antibiotic on the past but 5 day ago I started taking them. Sadly I experience so many of the side effects. I wasn’t hungry ( which is not bad) but I felt so tired, cold like symptoms, lightheaded, but what was a big red flag for me it was dizziness vertigo. I had never felt dizzy but I almost fall on the floor because I lost total balance after I woke up to go to the bathroom at 2 am . It was scary I felt like everything was spinning around. I just stopped this medication and started taking Dramamine for the symptoms.

Because I have a fear of swallowing long tablets I’ve been crushing Klacid to take it my pharmacist said it was fine. However I’ve noticed for the past two days I’ve been taking it crushed I feel like I’m going to gag and end up vomiting a tiny bit of it up? any idea as to why that’s happening.
