Capacitor 25+2uf 440v Duplo Friven
Histórico de preços
Be careful and discharge the capacitor before testing. Make sure you leave the probes on for several seconds until it stops. nnThanks for watching!!!!

I don’t have a microfarad setting on my
Meter? Will I still be able to test capacitors?
April 24 2025
I’m not saying this to be argumentative, but please no one use this method. Shorting out the positive and negative sides of an electrolytic cap through the use of a screw driver is a bad idea. It can greatly reduce the life of the capacitor, not to mention, it can be dangerous. Electrolytics can hold lethal charges long after being powered off.
Easy to build, a proper capacitor voltage discharge tool uses an approximately 100R resistor to do it properly. The resistor will slowly bleed off the voltage. There’s plenty of info out there regarding how to make one like on Blueglow Electronics. After discharging the capacitor correctly, the voltage needs to be measured again using a multimeter.
Good luck

Yeah pls don’t use a screw driver it’s better to set your meter to volts touch one side with the positive and one side w the negative and see the charge drop to 0 on the meter than u can set your meter to check for mfd

Do NOT discharge a capacitor this way, folks. That could get you maimed or killed. Discharge one lead at a time through a ground wire. Even then, use caution.

Big brother is watching. Yesterday i was called to a swimming pool heatpump that had a failed start cap. I had to make several calls to find a replacement and today i get this video pop up. Coincidence? I dont think so.

Use your voltmeter to discharge the capacitor, other wise you could damage the capacitor
April 24 2025
Instead of discharging with a screwdriver, teach people how to properly discharge it with a meter!!!
April 24 2025
And After it is discharged connect a wire between terminals to keep a charge from gathering
April 24 2025
You also need to check it’s ESR as this can be way off even if it’s capacity is good.
April 24 2025
Leave capacitor mounted, Remove connectors, then discharge capacitor preferably with a 100ohm/5watt resistor.
DO NOT HANDLE CAPACITOR UNLESS IT IS DISCHARGED FIRST
April 24 2025
All in all, a multimeter by its self is not a very useful tool to check a capacitor and when used with a power supply only gives you a little information, mostly it cant tell you if it is good, but it can tell you if the cap is bad.

Brilliant. Quick way to test a capacitor....use a capacitance meter. Where would we be without yt?
April 24 2025
Hey, how are you. Love it. Took a cap, charged it off 220 so 110ish. Told my friend, if his son didnt stop stealing my change im gonna fix him. Center console wired. Change everywhere. Id left it like that so long i kinda forgot about it. Dont touch that change and ground at same time.
April 24 2025
that would shortcircuit and you get spark. where all carged volts go. to skrewdriver? air?or that spark? i would not do it. it explode it plug it wrong wat hahaha
April 24 2025
This is false. The capacitance value can be correct and the capacitor still might not work.
April 24 2025
First learn what the terms you are discussing actually mean. Especially resister, ohm, watt and uf.
April 24 2025
Be smart. Use a proper resistor to discharge your capacitor. Not a screwdriver.
April 24 2025
a secondary test that happened was the charge rate of the cap. this is helpful info to circuit designers for purposes such as time delay. time delay circuits are important in electronic monitoring, or when it is a required function to have circuits turn on in a particular order.
April 24 2025
Do not take the discharge of a capacitor lightly.
Smaller capacitors can store life threatening levels of energy.
Discharge appropriately based on the micro Farad’s.
April 24 2025
Acceptable Range for this Capacitor is 6 units above or below 50 microfarad. 44-56 is good. Anything below 44, change it
April 24 2025
without ESR value, D value and test how it perform on different frequencies , this test is not enough to confirm if it is good or not.
April 24 2025
I have been working with motor run capacitors for 28 years every day and never had to discharge one
April 24 2025
Very informative and easy to understand how to SAFELY measure capacitance of a capacitor
April 24 2025
Measuring a capacitor while it is still in the circuit board is what I want to do

OK on which device can I test a supercapacitor?
I have 2 capacitors of 2.3V and 320F but I have no idea what device I can test them?
Does anyone have an idea?
