The service loop is not needed and potentially dangerous. Don’t do it. This is not low voltage!
April 29 2025
No reason for a service loop like this. Excessive, only a waste of money.
April 29 2025
I do pretty much the same except I use a ground crimp instead of a nut. Nice look
April 29 2025
More than 6" of service loop does not meet code. Staple needs to be holding no more than 6" of wire going into the box.
April 29 2025
Now show me one with 3 seperate circuits on three 3ways. Seperate Neutral s for arc faults, and add a hot for an added receptacle due to last second homeowner changes. Not as ideal a situation for a pretty video
April 29 2025
The problem with those videos that some homeowners look at that video and judge an actual electrician bassed on that video
SERVICE LOOP IS FOR SERVICE WIRES ONLY
April 29 2025
Those service loops are against code. Gotta have the wire stapled as it’s coming out the box
April 29 2025
Time spent 1st fixing to make it look ‘pretty’ then stripping the wires looking rough as a badger
April 29 2025
Just a curious mind inquiring but I didn’t think you were supposed to cross neutrals with other circuits? Looks like multiple branch circuits in their
April 29 2025
Bring on the cry babies who are gonna say its wrong, service loops are stupid, and you shouldnt use a drill for wire nuts.
April 29 2025
Looks nice I wish this was more common. Also, the drywallers will still find a way to fuck it up.
April 29 2025
How much wire running out on the furthest wire loop? Looks like quite a bit.
April 29 2025
Boxes and the sizes need to have changed in 100 years. It’s too small for what needs to be done.
April 29 2025
dude that looks so clean! Im just getting into this field now at 34, excited for my new beginning. will be watching a ton of your vids. thank you for putting out content
April 29 2025
Where is the dude that started this service loop crap....code fail......looks nice.....work inside the box is pretty good. Must leave minimum of 6 inches of wire on every ground to meet code.
April 29 2025
Make sure you leave an extra 3 or 4 feet of wire sticking out, so you can cut off all but 6" and throw it away, because wire is cheap, when someone else is buying it.
April 29 2025
Not up to code. Romex needs to be strapped within 6 inches of the box... this is a potential hazard, unlikely but the wire can move freely and rub up against the edge of the box eventually causing a short. Expansion is a B

Damn it looks disgusting as a European when Americans do electrical "right" I’m scared now. How does a bad job look like in the US?
April 29 2025
Too many wires on a red wirenut , time to invest in some grey and blue . I usually leave a neutral pigtail in switch box , some specific devices require a neutral.
April 29 2025
why are your flush boxes so big lol, you’d think that was for like 20 switches
April 29 2025
Wearing a METAL ring!?!? you will be sorry. I also like your work but I see that YOU are not one one purchasing the wire (at a buck+ a foot). No conservation there!
April 29 2025
In the uk you would never be in the position that you needed this at a switch! Crazy stuff
April 29 2025
That is way to sloppy, for God sakes take some pride in your work. JK PERFECT JOB
April 29 2025
You do not need service loops! You will never have a situation where you will need them. Just make it look sloppy. Just run the wires into the box and be done.
April 29 2025
Jesus wept, American wiring is absolutely awful no wonder you only use 110v
April 29 2025
See this guy is in the middle of the debate he uses both his lineman and his drill but every guy I’ve worked under would nail me to a cross if they saw me with a drill doing that
April 29 2025
At least one of those neutrals is a hot wire coming from a switch leg
April 29 2025
Wirenuts seem archaic to me. In the UK we sheath our earth and we use wago connectors instead of wirenuts.
April 29 2025
Inspectors would fail that based on your grounding procedure. Crimp sleeve required here.
April 29 2025
Stupid ass service loops. Only guys who think they know what they are doing leave stupid ass loops like that.
April 29 2025
Some people swear by big service loops, i prefer not to give drywallers a bigger target
April 29 2025
Great inside the box !
You don’t need that much slack outside the box !
It’s against code and sheet-rockers will mess up the wires !
April 29 2025
All wirenuts turned up , Just in case of water damage Other than that it appears to be fair
April 29 2025
35 yr general contractor here. I must say that is some super clean work. You can tell when someone takes pride in there craft and the sparky does in spadies

I’ve been an electrician for 25 years. And I think I’m finally getting old and fed up. It used to make me absolutely livid to hear all the electricians in this world who think their way is the best or the other guy is wrong. We sure are an arrogant bunch. But anymore, Ive just grown to really appreciate a different approach. It’s so much better to just have an open mind and realize how many different ways there are to skin a cat. This is not how I do things, but it’s pretty snazzy. I like it.
