Amazing and clear. Thank you! Hope to get good at cable terminations!
is the crimper tool with the blade on it required for these cat6 plugs? cause the current one i have is a little older and i guess originally ment for cat5e connections, so if i use it for a cat6 plug like the one in your video, will it still fully crimp the connector? i supose i can also cut off the wires manually once it crimps, i just dont want to go out and get a whole new crimper
I got a question. I hope you respond being a old video and all. I got a Cable with connectors installed on both sides (Not my work). The config is from 1-8: Orange, White/OrangeStripe, Green, White/GreenStripe, Blue, White/BlueStripe, Brown, White/BrownStripe. This is on both ends. Now when I connect it to the PC it does not work, so I twist the wire around here and there and get it to work but its temporary as the wire slips out and I have no connection. Not a issue on the other side which is the router. So I buy a new PC completely different, and same issue. What do you think about this? I have ordered the complete set of tools for repaire, but I will be doing this for the first time.
great video!
2:47 tip A stand for American standard and B stand for British standard.
WHAT A LIFE SAVER THANK YOU. all of this might as well been space magic for me before this video
you trippin bruh i aint doin allat 😂💔
Excellent video, thanks. Saved me a bunch of time learning the new process (which is definitely more reliable than the old non-pass-through method). Sure, some added expense, but with high quality Cat-6 UV and buriable cable, I will likely be replacing several runs around my house (which is also my home office).
Excellent explanation! Very clear and easy peasy.
Thank you 👍
I won't do that, I'll just buy a ready-made crimped cable. But you have a very wonderful video, nice diction and a wonderful voice. It's nice to watch and listen to.
I had a friend who worked for a little Internet distribution company during highschool for a few hours per day. His main job was to cable in new customers. And if a 16 year boy can do this with no real training, you can too
This is very good thanks.
So helpful. I know its been 3yrs but anyway thank you...
Mine has 2 green neither are orange unless you wear a tinfoil hat
Once you've done the first 100, the wire order becomes burned into your brain 😢
I don’t understand anything
Thanks for the information
Got it! Knife ✔️ Cable✔️ Clips ✔️
Hello sir! May I ask if I can use this on my final project? I am currently making a website that's about networking and computer hardware, and your video will help me a lot. Thank you for your kind consderation.
I'll never get the last 2 hours of my life back.... i just tried splicing 6 ethernet cables so my cod would stop lagging only to be educated on why splicing is a bad idea for ethernet cables.... fml. I always gotta learn the hard way😂😂😂 and I knew subconsciously the entire time I was doing this on my own without googling the information yet stubbornly and arrogantly thinking "I know what I'm doing" when in all reality idk shyit wtf 😅😅😅
Simple and clear, Thank you!!
As someone who’s studying to become a broadband technician, I’ve already memorized the different colors and positions between 568A and 568B to a T! 😂
Takes 10 times longer than necessary to explain…
Got one. Never looked back . Result
The Klein toll ypu linked in the description has terrible reviews
Thank you very much for the video it really helps…actually this is what we did today in class ❤
Por que el enlace de amazon que sugieres de la ponchadora es diferente y mas cara en precio a la que usas en el video? Dijiste que hibas a poner un enlace de lo que usaste en el video
Beautiful. I've been using the old style for years because I have a bag of 500 of them and didn't know about the pass thru. I will change my methods, Thanks!
Good, but doing this exercise is enough to drive you to madness. The individual wires have a mind of their own and almost always cross. I simply make the wires longer, thread them through one at a time, and then slide the connector back. So much easier.
I DO THIS DURING MY CSS CLASSES?
I am here after I missed my class 😭
Very confusing.
My test lights go one up and one down ! Any ideas ?
Hey - does this work for a flat ethernet cable or is it completely different? I am trying to find a tool that will strip the jacket off in the same way yours is doing it
wow
im gay
Thank you very much! Very clear video presentation!
I'm starting an internship and while I was taught how to do it this way, I definitely needed more tips! Thanks!
Thank you for sharing ❤
I bought a pass-thru crimper and RJ45 connectors on aliexpress after watching this video. I have a slightly different take than the content creator. At least for me, this pass-thru tool did not make the process of ordering the wires and inserting them any easier than with a standard crimping tool. The speed of crimping is not reduced. IMO the only benefit is that you can verify the ordering definitively before crimping (and therefore not ruin the connector with bad wiring). This may be clear to others watching this video but it definitely was not to me.
Am here because my ict teacher want us to make Ethernet cable and I didn't understand it very well
When I first saw this I was concerned that the down-votes meant there was some reason not to watch it! Who could downvote this? I've never done anything like this in my life, and your video helped me get it right first time! Thank you, internet stranger of ethernet wizardry!
Thank you so much for this video. What a detailed information and crystal clear way of doing things in one shot. Very much appreciated.
great vid thx for the refresher course 🫡
Orange white orange Green white blue Blue white green Brown white brown That's how racism was defeated
Yes, the pass through RJ45 connectors makes it super easy and fewer failures. On my intern’s first day I challenged them to make a patch cable that worked on their first try. If they succeeded I would buy them a dinner from Jimmy John’s or equivalent because some just couldn’t eat it. Story took a twist, or I should say “Untwist” when one of them introduced me to a new tool called “UNTWIST”. That saved my finger from calluses after straightening the wires. I bought one and was able to make a 3’ patch cable in <5 minutes. This is not meant to be a plug for them but that is the second most useful idea since the pass through connectors. Like this video. What a way to save time trying to explain how it works and how awesome they are. Thanks!!!
American rock duo from Detroit... Classic dry British humour. Excellent!
DID IT! Far from easy and definitely need good eyesight/one of those jeweller's magnifying eyepieces haha But it worked, thanks! Insane cable design - i'll google why that is next 🤠
good video ,,, made easy ,,, i hope,,, thank,s
I keep putting tips on. Tester showing no shorts (when I test with one end) and then all 8 perfectly. NEver works with my computer. Not sure why. I'm on my 4th try.
10 years ago I ran hundreds of metres of Cat 5 thru steep bush country to bring 3G down from a mountain top Yagi. I spent hours on my knees fitting RJ45 to each end then testing and repeating. I would have loved the pass thru plugs. Power over ethernet had not been invented.
fantastic
This is a perfect example of how "good" tutorial videos never go "out of style". Very concise. My cable and tools are arriving tomorrow for my NVR system. Thanks! !! !!!
How to do that without the big and complex tool? I will not buy an expensive tool just to do 1 time job.
Is there a way to find out where a long run cable is broken? If its in the middle, can i find out where? Im trying to avoid re-running cable
can you make a VIDEO of RJ45 that does not have the pass through like yours
Wires are not passing through the connector, Why?
I too been doing it the old fashion way and just bough a kit for pass through. Your video is a great primer. Thanks for sharing.
I don't have a tester nor am I spending that much on one just to see if it works
Trying to just slide those into each channel just isnt possible man, i had an easier time just shoving. Each individual wire by itself through each channel, your wire colors was spot on tho, did wire it up backwards the first go, but on the second got it right and when i checked the speed its the max my service prov can give
I was finally able to wire my basement for my son’s Xbox after some WiFi lags - found the tools/connectors on amazon cheap, and your video made it very clear - thank you!
Step two : learn how to use these tools Step three : now follow this video
I need to say that I had enormous difficulty with this method: many many attempts to thread the wires all together as shown. Crossed wires, bending wires, or simply refusing to thread at all. My method is to strip 3-4 inches of cable and thread one wire at a time. You can see exactly what’s happening inside the connector and you can take your time check the positioning in the connector, pull a single wire out if it incorrectly placed. Easy peasy!
Recently I accidentally tripped over the LAN cable of my gaming PC and the cable was ripped off the plug. The plug itself was still plugged into the PC's connector and I had to remove it with pliers. I haven't noticed any problems with the Internet since this incident, but I'm now wondering whether something inside the PC could break during this process. It was a fairly flat CAT cable and it almost looked as if the plug should fall off in such a case to limit the damage. Is that possible? Or could something really have been broken inside?
Thanks! Did it, worked
i never knew it can goes through ...thank you very much
His 6 minutes video make me understand than my teacher teach me 3 hour🙏 (Thank you so much)
I went and bought a cable and these endings. Now I need to buy special tools and other stuff? For suck's sake...
What about foil shield ?
thanks, great info!
Some of my "dinosaur" work colleagues make fun of me because I use pass through instead of normal ones. Ok, boomers.

How much does this all cost
TV plm me
After watching your video and hearing your amazing voice/accent, I consider my self an RJ45 CRIMP MASTER!
much obliged! cheers!
Importan to cable
The solid green keeps refusing to go in. I’ve done over 1000 of these all of a sudden I’m having an issue with the solid green
I really liked the way you explained the whole process. Straight to the point. Thank you.
bang kirimin rj45 nya dong
Those strain relief boots suck, get ones that are more like reverse plastic clips that are similar to the ones on the ethernet connector itself. Avoid any of the ones that feel rubbery. They will get hard over time... and even when not hard, they are a huge pain in the butt to deal with.
Unshielded 🤔no thanks😌
Great Info. Now why do they have to be in either one of those sequences? Someone once told me, just put soli right next to the same color stripe, do the same on both ends and it will work.. Anyone can clarify this please..
thank you, got it right first try no experience
podrias indicar que tipo de crimpeador se necesita?
Some years ago, I crimped all my RJ45’s with non pass-through plugs.. that was when my eye sight was a bit better 👀. Definitely going to invest in some new tools (and pass-through plugs) now I think, as a few repairs are needs. This video is just the best, many thanks for the excellent tutorial 👍 Liked & Subscribed - Neil (UK)
Thanks for the tip 4:25 ❤
What is the name of that tool at 0:22 and at 0:57
Lmao. Took me a minute with the "white stripes" reference
You got me with the White Stripes reference
Buford Way
phenomenal video! much appreciated! just subscribed!
Thank you!
Thanks for this video....I follow these steps and successfully crimping lan cable
The video was helpful I was trying to use the cables too short and needed to strip more seeing you do that made it much easier
This is a perfect video. Informative and to the point, entertaining, some humor, great camera work and production, great narration. I wish more videos were done in this manner. Good job and thank you.
Having done my own cables for years, your comments re. ways to screw things up ring true! Just an overall GREAT tutorial video and a "must see" IMO for anyone wishing to put together their own cables.
