This explanation does NOT make sense: The Plaid is said to have 1020ph both in US and in EU. Why would they use a different HP measurement on just the Performance model? No, the real reason is that the shitty LG battery gives you both lower range and 50hp less peak power output. Overall the battery technology is the same as 4 years ago. I have the Model 3 LR from 2020 and it has the LG pack. Its not very good compared to Panasonic when it comes to range and charge curve. The LG pack is REALLY bad compared to the latest CATL packs coming out now. They offer almost 500km added range in 10 min. In my LG model it will take 45 min. You are a looser if you buy this Performance model as it will lose a LOT of value when the CATL packs come to the market. Who would like to buy a LG pack car in 2 years?

Unfortunately you can’t put 18” wheels on a model 3 Performance since the Model 3 performance has the bigger brake compare to the Long range or Standard Range so the 18” don’t fit

Now, as warmer weather sets in, government officials are on high alert, with summer predicted to bring hotter and drier conditions that are ideal for fire. “Unfortunately, this forecasting continues what has become an alarming, but somewhat predictable, trend of hot, dry summers that present the perfect conditions for intense fires,” Jonathan Wilkinson, Canada’s minister of energy and natural resources, told reporters at the news conference. High temperatures and arid conditions last year stoked roaring wildfires in Quebec that blanketed parts of the United States in heavy plumes of smoke, obscuring skylines and setting off warnings about unhealthy air quality. Both Quebec and Nova Scotia were not in drought conditions at the start of 2023, but that abruptly changed in the spring because of rising temperatures and a lack of precipitation, officials said. It is difficult to predict if that kind of shift will occur again, they added.

Yes, it‘s cheap. So if you are not a car enthusiast, i.e. are ok with having almost no individual choices for color, interior, wheels etc, can live w/o common buttons, no real cockpit, head-up or speedo in front of you, no connection to Iphone or android, then this might be your choice. I saw already third-party vendors to offer displays, buttons and so on trying to make this a useful car. But it can be fast in a straight line for a while, go for it.

My first Sports car 1988 Fiero Formula. My second was a 2010 JCW Mini Cooper. Seeing this car, I was blown away! This will be my first Tesla (ordered Phoenix, AZ). Probably my last new sports car at 58 Years old.

Chinese getting the better car sooner was pretty lame, now we got the performance at the same time as them and ours is better as it should be. Nevermind fit and finish that can be remedied under warranty and over time as they make more of them and get better at working out the retooling at the factory.

This video properly testing US model 3 performance clearly show how wrong your analysis was. The difference Tesla gave has nothing to do with different units (HP) used. The US model is over 600HP AT THE WHEEL, and people managed to do 2.7s o-60mph while the best people managed with the Chinese made is 3.1s. Don’t drive the model 3 onna track. Great on the straight from light to light, but the brakes don’t even last 2 laps on any track. So it isn’t a true performance car, but a fast straight line car
