Em pacientes com pressão alta e hipertrofia ventricular esquerda, Corus reduziu o risco de derrame (acidente vascular cerebral) e de ataque cardíaco (infarto do miocárdio) e ajudou esses pacientes a viverem mais.
Seu médico também pode ter receitado Corus por você ter diabetes tipo 2 e proteinúria, nesse caso, Corus pode retardar a piora da doença renal.
Para que serve? Corus age dilatando os vasos sanguíneos para ajudar o coração a bombear o sangue para todo o corpo com mais facilidade.
Essa ação ajuda a reduzir a pressão alta.
Em muitos pacientes com insuficiência cardíaca, Corus irá auxiliar no melhor funcionamento do coração.
Corus também diminui o risco de doenças do coração e dos vasos sanguíneos, como derrame em pacientes com pressão alta e espessamento das paredes do ventrículo esquerdo do coração (hipertrofia ventricular esquerda).
Além desses efeitos sobre a pressão arterial, Corus também ajuda a proteger seus rins se você tiver diabetes tipo 2 e proteinúria (perda de proteína na urina por comprometimento dos rins).

É importante que continue tomando Corus pelo tempo que o médico lhe receitar, para manter a pressão arterial controlada.
Contraindicação: Você não deve tomar Corus se: For alérgico a losartana ou a qualquer outro componente deste medicamento; Sua função hepática estiver seriamente prejudicada; Você estiver com mais de 3 meses de gestação.
O uso de losartana potássica também deve ser evitado no início da gestação; Você tiver diabetes ou insuficiência renal e estiver tomando algum medicamento para reduzir a pressão arterial que contenha alisquireno.

Além disso, o remédio ajuda a prevenir ou diminuir o risco de eventos cardiovasculares, como infarto do miocárdio e acidente vascular cerebral.
COMO DEVO USAR O medicamento deve ser administrado por via oral, uma vez ao dia.

Since starting Losartan 2 months ago I have experienced severe low back pain. The pain is coming from my SI joint on the left side. My initial dosage was 50 mg, but that’s been reduced to 25mg (taken 12.5mg twice a day). All BP meds have negative side effects, so switching to another medication would probably bring another side effect. Thank you for sharing your experience.

Got put on losartan after lotrel was giving me heart palpitations and atenolol dropped my heart rate into dangerous bradycardia levels. Hopefully third times the charm but is there any foods to avoid on this med?

Hi. I have been taking Cozaar for 1 year now to isolated diastolic hypertension. Yesterday I had my annual medical check up. Everything appeared as normal but I now have a few small kidney stones (0.2-0.4mm). My question is could the Cozaar have caused this? I am only 40 and I have concerns about what this may do to my kidneys long term.

Do not take Berberine if you are on this medication. Not sure if metaforin has the same "nulifying " effect on Losartan.

I have been on losartan 50mg water pil for a couple of years. I get muscle cramps, sore muscles and joints. Is this normal? My BP has been average 150/100 and my DR just changed my dosage to 100mg. Not sure if I should do this.

This was very helpful as I’m lopressor for nine years now and I have had continuing blood sugar increases as well as a high hematocrit level and hemoglobin. I have seen continual increases since 2015 when I was placed on this medication. Since my blood sugar range has gone way up as well I was looking for a medication replacement that would tackle both of these issues. This seems to be it. Plus I’ve developed numbness in left middle fingertip of right hand which is another side effect. Ty for sharing this information.

im on 25 mg of losartan for high blood pressure but my blood pressure on that dose is 116/71. i want to lower the dose to 12.5 mg. does it even pay to be on them at that low of a dose for blood pressure since the standard dose is 50 mg?

My doctor got me taking Losartan 50 mg and Atenolol 50 mg I take them both at 7pm everyday.

Before taking it my BP eas 150/100 or 135/90 i have never been to the dr and seen it regular. Now i do (25 mg) and i have had nothing high then 127/80 i did have some side effects like fatigue at first and a cugh but now it has been great!

Constantly falling asleep, even before I finished my bowl of Oatmeal.
I am retired, but still need to do the basic housework,
but most of the time was falling asleep at the chair several times a day.
