Hi, my husband, 89 yo now is taking Eliquis 2.5 mg since 2021 after pacemaker is done. Developed bruises on his head 2023 (which is one of the side effects of blood thinner). Now, those bruises became angiosarcoma. Everyday bleeding... Must he stop taking blood thinner? Or is it ok if 3x a week use only? Any recommendation is deeply appreciated. Thank you

I am a 73 year old man. My doctor put me on Eliquis 5 mg twice a day. This is because I have been diagnosed with atrial fibrillation. My doctor tells me that they are trying to reduce my risk of a stroke and heart attack. One side effect I did have is I developed mild nasal bleeding when I caught the common cold. I did inform my doctor of this. The mild nasal bleeding cleared up when I recovered from the common cold.

My dad is 83 years old, had two heart attacks, has five stents in his heart, suffers from pulmonary fibrosis, diabetic, has Atrial fibrillation, and most recently had a hemorrhagic stroke (two brain bleeds). He’s currently in hospital (Rehab). The doctors reversed his anticoagulant. My question is, should they put him back on blood thinners, or leave it, due to his AF? Either way you look at it, the outcomes aren’t good. It’s a double edged sword! What are your thoughts please?
