This is a college lecture? What a bunch of garbage. And someone teach this person that overuse of verbal pauses "yeah," "like," and "but," makes you sound like a moron.

There is only one thing that causes obesity...food addiction specifically carbs/sugar addiction. That is what it is and that is how it should be treated.

Alright, so. The argument that someone’s weight doesn’t mean they’re unhealthy is completely wrong in the sense. Unhealthy meaning not in a good trajectory for your health and that’s how that works. Being overweight to obese to morbidly obese isn’t an indicator that you have current health issues, but each step up in weight is a massive multiplier for an almost countless medical issues, which is usually the downplayed part. The genetics argument again isn’t completely wrong on a lot of problems, but it tends to be over stressed to push accountability out of the window. Food has gone downhill and is causing a lot of issues, or all these “genetically overweight” problems would’ve existed throughout history and they didn’t, shocker. I remember taking this course at university and what it is, is basically a glorified HR position on health. It’s all presentation and loose stats, which leads to a lot of people injecting their belief systems instead of digging deeper and backing it up with cold hard facts. It can be useful if attached to a scientific background, but it’s often used to just give presentations. Although you could argue that personal beliefs have infected even deeper professionals like surgeons or psychiatrist care due to the allowance of allowing mentally disturbed people chop their genitals off or grafting them, among other things.

You know when they use the words “call to action” we have a problem. Since she is trained in nutrition and health, so it doesn’t really apply to her, but I’ve noticed with people associated with activist studies, is that they make assertions with no solid evidence about a variety of topics they have no expertise in. - Biology - Medicine - Meteorology - Psychology - Early Child Development - and many other fields

I think her thought process saying “it is what it is “ in regards of what you eat is not going to change whether you’re fat should be adopted for the climate change industry. It would save a whole bunch of money and inconveniences for people’s lifestyle choices and reduce stressful criticism especially for the young people that find it hard to live their lives to full potentials with the burden of guilt for their climate choices.

You can’t change your weight? You can’t keep it off? I don’t like to use profanity, but to emphasize just how strongly I disagree with this statement: that’s complete and total bullshit. You know why I know? I’m a living counterpoint. For decades I was hugely fat - yes I said it because reality is reality - over 400 pounds. About 13 years ago, I decided I was going to lose weight. It started because my blood sugar was creeping up and my doctor advised me that I was on the road to being diabetic if I didn’t do something. So I started working on losing weight. I was making slow progress, but then I met a woman I wanted to have a chance to date - another fact of reality is that fat people aren’t as attractive to a lot of people. Deal with it. While I didn’t wind up with the woman, I wound up losing nearly 140 pounds. No surgery. Just eating less and getting a lot more exercise. And for 13 years, though I have put about 20 pounds back on of late at at one point put 35 back on, I’ve kept the vast majority of it off. So much for you can’t keep it off. But it takes hard work. I walk 3-4 miles at least five days a week. I limit my caloric intake, though I need to step up my discipline on that. And, while I’m still overweight, I haven’t become diabetic and hopefully won’t. So much for there not being a relationship between weight to aspects of health. So yes, weight is your doing. Not all as there are genetic impacts, the choices you make for what to eat and how much exercise to do plays a huge role in weight. This nutritionist is committing malpractice, if that’s a thing for that job, in the points she is making. Most of the woke delusions and breaks from reality may not promote harmful behaviors and lifestyles in an overt and objective manner, but telling people they can’t impact their weight and implying there is no risk to health is dangerous and potentially harmful to someone in a very real and objective manner. This is a perfect example of where wokism Is going to lead to very clear harm to people who fall under its spell.

I expect my doctor to monitor my weight as it’s an important indicator of my hormones going off the rails. Sometimes medication causes weight changes (either direction). Not weighing patients is actually phobic!

I teach my children not to name call or deliberately hurt someone’s feelings. However, I also believe in speaking truthfully. If they are describing a person to me and they are overweight they use the words big or chunky or fat. It’s ok to have manners.
