I had the iPod touch 4 in middle school, a friend of mine at the time during Christmas got a new iPod and I was excited that it was a 4 also, he then proceeded to say it was a shuffle and I was disappointed

I like this. I had one, but the problem was that it would stop working out of no where. And the only way to get it to work was to connect it to iTunes.

I wish Apple would keep this same form factor but add bluetooth to let me use my earpods and put a gps in it to track my runs, and give me the option to set up a workout that starts with the music when I hold the play button down. Just in time for a free-run in the spring, totally disconnected from the world in a pseudoanalog way for an hour. Sigh. The Apple Watch is the next best thing, and can do all of that already, but still I can dream

hey man i have one of these and when i charge it it shows life, but one I check the battery by double clicking the voice button it shows no life. I really dont want to buy a new bat bc its my moms. Help

My 4G Shuffle that I bought in 2011 is still working nicely, holding battery for a considerably good amount of time (while listening on low volumes), so maybe wait for it to charge completely and see...

Honestly the battery not working surprised me
The 4th gen Shuffle normally lasts an insanely long amount of time. Had a first wave 4th gen that still had extremely long battery life in 2021, and they were producing them until 2017.

When I was about 8-9 my dad took me to the Apple Store and got me one of these to replace my 5th gen that had a rough encounter with a car door. We made it out of the parking lot when my dad called my mom and I spilled the beans on my new iPod and she made us turnaround and return it.
Now ~17 years later I just restored that 5th gen that was slammed in a car door and this video unlocked a core memory

That happened with my iPod shuffle 3 every time I tried to plug it in, i was rage quitting cuz it was not working, until I found out that I just had to plug it in, remove if not working and do that in a different angle, very time, more than 5 times, welp, it still works

This is the only apple product ive ever owned, got it as a gift one year, and to be honest i absolutely hated it, primarily for this reason, but i also didnt like that it had an audio voice telling you what song was playing, though i guess thats the whole point of it being a "shuffle" songs are just on random for you. but i usually used my other mp3 players at the time, and no i didnt use those earbuds either xD
