- PLEASE READ IF YOU ARR TAKING THIS MED: I used to take that junk until my hair started falling off. I was loosing quite a bit of hair. I told two doctors about it and both told me that this med does not cause hair loss. Luckily I did some research and found a website that lists medications and people can rate the medications and leave comments about their experience with this med. Sure enough several people complained of their hair falling off. I was not imagining things. I finally found a doctor who told me that this med and others in it’s class can cause hair loss.Then they switched me to Losartan, that med gave me anxiety. I was also told that it wasn’t the med. A visit to the same website confirmed that other people experienced anxiety that med. Later a friend of mine who is a Doctor and also has hypertension told me that she hates Losartan because of anxiety. Another friend told me the same thing. My point is, if you are taking any meds and start experiencing side effects and your doctor tells you that it’s not the med, do some research, because it seems that doctors care more about what Big Farma tells then rather than what their patients tells them.BTW, I took the med only for a couple of months and stopped taking it about two years ago. My hair has never fully regrown. Hair loss is not listed as a side effect of this med. I am sure that the manufacture knows of the problem. They don’t care. May be someone needs to sue them.

I take 50mg of Metoprolol in the Morning, it helps me very good with anxiety, but it doesnt lower my BP? Still 150/ 100, why?? Should i increase the dose or switch to Atenolol or Propranolol or any other Beta Blocker??

If you get the right cannabis you dont need the beta blockers. when you body get high levels of THC it slows the metabolism down lower blood pressure It activate receptors in the heart Makes the brain communicate with the heart better.

One of my BP meds is metoprolol but I smoke weed a lot and it lowers my blood pressure. No effect at all except a good effect of lowering.

I’m so sorry for your feelings and don’t care about them at all ! But if your taking this your an complete id i ot and you will die before your time, if you have a heart condition you don’t add things to the mix to keep doing what’s killing you, you simply stop Ingesting what’s killing you !! And got off the meds wile the diseases just goes away !!! I don’t know why people listen to doctors in the first place , they have no idea what there doing besides taking your money for no help to you but only them !!!

Doctors put you on one drug, another doctor takes you off and prescribes a new medication. I was put on metoprolol and within a day my ankles were swollen. I stopped taking it.

I’ve taken Metoprolol since 2016 my Hospitalist switched me from another medication when I was in the hospital for gunshot injuries. I originally was diagnosed in 2009 or 2010 for atrial fibrillation (a-fib). I take 50mg daily also Losartan 100mg and Eliquis 5mg 2x daily. When I first began taking Metoprolol I had low blood pressure 1x, and not happened again since. I get slightly dizzy from time to time but never anything so bad that I have to sit down for any period of time. For the gunshot my left index finger had to be amputated and I have to live with the constant pain because I don’t like the medicine I had to take, it made me severely Constipated and my Right ear rang constantly, I hated that. I was robbed after I first retired and lost my finger. My point is that I’m grateful for the medicine that I take, Metoprolol and Losartan are the best combination for me. I love the Eliquis because it’s not Warfarin and I love Green Vegetables. I never drank alcohol much in my entire life and don’t drink anything now because it says Don’t consume alcohol on the bottle of medicine, so I don’t.

To the people in the comments sharing antidotal evidence that they feel their cannabis use hasn’t interacted with their beta blocker…so what?
It’s irresponsible and can do harm to minimize a potential safety issue for some.
Not everyone has the same response to a drug…not everyone has the same reaction to a drug.
Just because one person didn’t have a side effect doesn’t mean another person won’t.
I work in the industry and not even pharmaceutical companies (who are financially incentivized to minimize safety) espouse such things as “ some people didn’t have a side effect”
We can all strive to be as truthful and not misleading as pharmaceutical companies… At least I would hope
Let the science stand for itself: some people will experience an interaction when using cannabis and a beta blocker. Period.
Side note: it’s the cannabis users who seem to be sounding off. I haven’t seen anyone in the comment section debating that they are on an SSRI and a beta blocker with no issue. Hmm?? We can ponder what’s behind that….

Drs do not tell us about side effects that heart meds cause!!( Most do not)! Do your own research! Talk to your drs about your medicine and side effects! I usually keep a daily record of my blood pressure! My doctor and home-health nurse suggested my doing this! If my blood pressure is too high,!I take my meds, but if is too low, I do not take certain meds! This is working for me! I am not a dr., or license healthcare provider! Nebivolol is the most B1 specific beta blocker available. It became generic last year. I take nebivolol to slow my heart rate down (it tends to be chronically fast) and help lower blood pressure.

I take M. at a half dose and have a couple of side effects, including slow heart rate and shortness of breath. I also have constantly skipping heartbeats., like 1 every 4-6 beats.

I have asthma and noticed that since I started taking metoprolol it impacts my breathing and makes my skin itch. I will be talking to my doctor. I do wish there were naturals meds.

what about interactions with Natokinase and/or Klonopin? I am new to afib and had some horrible afib episodes. Now I am on metoprolol for almost a month. I have found that I can not miss a dose or even be late taking my dose,125mg, otherwise I have horrible dizziness and headache. almost as if I have a dependance/addiction. what is that action?

I’m on a different medicine from the same class and an SSRI and this video has just made me extremely nervous. What’s more of the cardiologist knew about that before putting me on the medicine.

My husband put on Bisoprolol (not for bp or hr) and ended up with severe cough for 2 weeks; many doctor appts with Pulmonologist. What a mess. He stopped med and symptoms disappeared within 1 week. Never again.

I stop now with metoprolol, I am already feeling better. I should have done this earlier. Also if you use statins, stop with them! They are useless. They will effectively lower your LDL-cholesterol, but that is useless.

I take 25mg of metoprolol and also fluoxetine 20mg along with cannabis gummies. I’ve been feeling really weird with my nerves in my thoracic spine. Numbness tingling loopy feeling. Nerve pain in chest and arms. I am becoming more suspicious it from taking metoprolol. Anyone else have these side effects and in same meds and recreational gummies?
