Informações do Produto: :Reported mileage 330,414 Kilometers. Found a slightly loose timing chain on this 2005 Toyota Corolla 1.8 during a valve cover gasket job and other related work previously for a cylinder #4 misfire and some oil leaks. However, there were no driveability issues or any DTCs stored regarding the timing chain issue. There are no noises either and vehicle otherwise drives fine. The variable valve timing system can compensate for slight timing chain stretch over time especially common on higher mileage vehicles. It is not a problem now, but may be a problem later down the road when it accumulates more mileage. I suspect that the timing chain has stretched slightly and that the guides have worn down a bit. Also, it is possible for the timing chain tensioner to be a little worn out as well. Further investigation is needed to confirm. Customer has been notified about these issues and will wait until there are noticeable symptoms/problems. The misfire has been fixed and vehicle has been returned to the customer. 2006 corolla. I redid timing myself in 2022, Been running smoothly since, no more random missfire. Im over 240K, i change oil on time.
