Are there any good resources for learning the architecture for coding in assembly for these raspberry pi’s?

*Scary, this is all it takes to guide an ICBM from North Korea to the USA plus the $2.00 GPS chip.*

I thought it was pronounced kuber-neats... One of the two of us is hella weird.

12 years since the Raspberry Pi came out and they still refuse to scale production to meet demand. Do they hate money?

Does anyone know where I can get that EDA active cooler in the UK?

Another problem with boards like this is I find my self to be a board-hoarder: get the latest, test it in a few projects, pull it out of it again, put it in a drawer: my mini-museum of single board computers nobody sees nor uses. I still start every project with a Leonardo or a MEGA if I need many pins.

Jeff, i see you have an OnLogic Factor 20x on your desk, any chance you can check if the CM5 works in it? We are looking to use rhe CM5 for some of our customers, but our OnLogic rep does NOT like the Pi, so is pushing back everytime I ask about the Factor... Just need NIC, NVMe, HDMI, PoE, and USB for our uses...

Now if we just had a modular PCB that you could mate other modules to and make a smartphone. Like a smartphone foundation PCB.

Wow! -This tiny computer must be so powerful for it to change EVERYTHING! It probably can stop all wars, eliminate all sicknesses, create an Earth-like atmosphere and gravity on Mars…? Maybe even stop all people from lying?… Wow! Just wow! …Everything!….
April 23 2025
You are exaggerating the importance of that board. The word EVERYTHING is a lie.

And YET the CPU on my new RPi 5 throttled just from running Bitcoin full node (not mining, just validating blocks - RPi 4 and earlier did this just fine even with passive cooling, yet mine often maxes out the fan)...

Nice. Do a comparison with the newly updated nvidia edge device if possible- n various use cases.

I dont have a clue what is being said for 90% of this video, but I still watched the whole thing and learned some things. Nice job!

Absolute disqualifier for most use cases in the Pis have always been their lack of good storage options and ethernet. Their ethernet over a usb-hub was always shit. Their lack of SATA or PCIe storage was always ridiculously stupid. emmc is also horrible. The addition of the m.2 slot is a good and necessary change to make it viable.

Everthing is a Huge Statement, but your right, i no longer were socks and jocks now, CM5 Rules
April 23 2025
I would love a carrier for astro usage with a few DC 5x2.1 plugs and 4 usbs. No ethernet to make it smaller ... Maybe there is someone listening to make it? :P :P

AND make a video on all the features of the Nebra flash stick. I have one. it works great but using both modes. the one eemc selections doesnt seem to do anything. No good resources explaining both selections on the Nebra flash USB card. Youre the fucking best man. Learned so much from you
April 23 2025
If you dont have at least the 128GB eemc then. its basically worthless really. NVMe all day for everything

NOW WE ALL need to Build the Wireless mobile Remote access console and compute system.
Tablet that remotes into A big pc server but mostly my win 10pc

Random question for UK based techies (London especially). Where do you go to physically buy things like motherboards, chips, graphic cards, RAM or anything to do with laptops and desktops.

*** REVIEW IDEA : not sure if you can get one, or it fits your channel profile, but I would LOVE to see your style of review on the new Nvidia home AI computer. It uses the G10 for horsepower and a separate ARM cpu for control. its claimed to be a low cost home AI solution due to its processing power.

Can one use a CM5 module in CM4 module adaptive hardware? I still have a lot of CM4 hardware lying around.... :)

I would like to transition to a backend infrastructure engineer... What exams & certifications would you recommend?
April 23 2025
Your videos are always so informative and helpful.
I saw a tiny bit of equipment on your desk that grabbed my attention, and that is onLogic factor 201, which usually came shipped with CM4.
Did you try CM5 on it? If so, how was the performance, thermals and other aspects of compatibility?
Appreciate any answer/info!
April 23 2025
Not-so-fun fact: The cm5 does not support analog audio on GPIOs 12/13, despite the datasheet saying that it does, breaking compatibility with a number of existing projects (just like the pi5, which has the same issue). Raspberry Pi also seems uninterested in bringing either the pi5 or cm5 up-to spec in this area; very disappointing.

The amount of information you just shared and packed up this 15 minute video is time well spent and worth the watch.
April 23 2025
@Jeff uf youre still reading this. Can you tell me if all the PCM audio IO fromthe rp1 chip is still accessible on the cm5? Like it is on the pi5?
April 23 2025
Where did you get that nice board storage device? 3D print yourself or find it online somewhere?
April 23 2025
Crazy thought. Is there a way to use a hailo accelerator via a top hat, and a dual m.2 nvme ssd bottom hat on the same raspberry pi 5? Is there such a thing as a pci express adapter to allow for the use of two hats? (insert laughter here). Trying to keep the form factor as small as possible.
Great news! I found a hat for that!

I miss toying with tech, like this. You get old and your brain just stops understanding things.
April 23 2025
Thinking about buying a Pi5 as a home (email) server, nas, and experimentation. Should I buy the CM5 instead?
April 23 2025
My take is that CM5 should work fine with the DeskPi Super6C, but as you mentioned the Radxa CM5s, have you tried those too in this board?
April 23 2025
135€ gives me a N100 Board with 6 x 2.5 GBit Ports. Do that Raspberry Pi xD
No Hate I love Raspberry Pi but currently its just to expensive in comparison at the moment.
Still got hope for the Pi6 ;-)
April 23 2025
9:32 I’m looking just for this, but I’m wondering the name of the board with SATA conectors and where you connect the power supply
April 23 2025
I like the standard CM5 Board a lot more over the RPi5 if you want to use the nvme. Theres a set with case and all for 150bucks here.
RPi5 Module (sadly 4gb ram), +Case with fan + cooler +CM Board +PSU
And normal hdmi.
Its still getting towards 200bucks minipc territory with a bigger CM5 sadly.

Hello Jeff, did you PXE boot the CM5 on the Compute Blade. Currently iam writing my Master-Thesis on a cluster of 40 RPI CM4/CM5 on Compute Blades. Currently the PXE bootflow doesnt seem to work. How did you boot the CM5? I would really appreciate your Feedback:)
