Do you ever use the pinching motion in the lecture hall to get the especially rowdy ones to settle down? (Kids in the Hall, maybe b4 yr time)

My Dahlia’s are super leggy. Going to try this. Thank you!
Blessings!

Thanks for the very clear demonstration! Might you ever pinch more than once to encourage even more growth? Or is it best practice to only do this once? Thank you!

If you live in a zone where you can leave them in the ground, during the winter (mulched) they will naturally bush up the following year

Thanks very much, super useful. Is this the sort height that I should pinch them out? Or earlier if possible?

Love the way you pronounce Dahlia the American way instead of Daylia❤

This is great! Thanks for the demo! Same goes for peppers. You can see the side shoots start to grow literally overnight!

This is the first year that I cut my dahlias back for winterizing them in the house…i took the cuttings and made sure there was a leaf and at least 2 leaf nodes (leaves removed from those), and then put into a hole in moist soil.
Now I have a bunch more dahlia plants, and my main one made more branches, its a win-win!

So i never had dahlias befor. I bought two big dahlias and splitted them into smaler ones. they are healthy, BUT one of them has only one shot, quite big though. Do i pinch that one OR do i leave it, because it may be stressed enough from the splitting?
Would love your opinion on this matter. ❤

Are you not pinching the Dahlia with several stems? Reason I ask is because some of my Dahlia’s only came up one shoot, while others came up with two or more shoots. Am I supposed to be pinching the ones with multiple shoots? Or should I just leave it alone because it’s already going to give me a lot of branching because there are several shoots?
