In order to have this concern diagnosed and resolved at the earliest, the car owner reached out to us for immediate assistance. Upon a detailed inspection of the car by our expert technicians, OBD scanning revealed DTC’s relating to a fault in the rear right ABS sensor, with the faulty ABS sensor needing an immediate replacement, in order to resolve the concern. *What is an ABS sensor? - The anti-lock braking system (ABS) uses an ABS sensor which is attached onto either the wheels or onto the axle to measure the rotational speed of the wheels - Most ABS sensors contain a toothed ring and magnet that’s enclosed with a coil - Contact between the magnet and ring creates an electric field, which turns into a signal that is sent to the ABS controller - The ABS controller determines the speed of each wheel or axle. This information is then transmitted to the car’s ECM - When the ECM sees that a wheel is locking up, the ABS system is then activated - If a car is also equipped with traction control, the ABS sensor helps control the movement of the car in precarious situations.
