My desk running from my mixer to my studio monitors, 6ft is perfect and I don't have to try to hide the rest of the cables behind my PC. So they do have their uses.
I literally just placed an order for a 10ft XLR cable to replace the 6ft one I'd been using for the last two or three weeks. STOP SPYING ON ME.
Can I do a 6.5 ft cable or a 7ft like I don’t like the whole lot of slack tbh it’s just for my desk setup was thinking of getting a 6ft cable for my shure SM7db mic currently I have a 10ft cable and not really liking the whole slack what are your thoughts boom arm is like 3ft in length

Don’t ever buy mogamis from distributors. Redco sells all the mogami cables and neutrick connectors. You can make a 10 xlr for less than half the price of one.

Get the right length cable.
I have a dedicated backpack for “short” xlr cables. I have pairs of 3’, 6’, 10’, and 15’ers in there. In my main xlr cable case I have (4) 20’, (10) 25’, (4) 30’, and (2) 50’ers. I’ve never had an issue where I didn’t have the appropriate sized cable for my live band gigs. Works like a charm since every gig is a little different.
