Got my Q990D two days ago and I couldnt be more thrilled. I have a 85" QM8 and pairs nicely. You honestly dont need Q symphony. From what I have been reading, the difference is very minute. Use the adaptive sound with sound fit on and youll be a very happy person. Im still trying to figure out the channel levels and determine if it needs tweaking but its a great buy! You wont be disappointed.

Is it possible to add a second subwoofer, even if it’s just a line out from the back of the subwoofer? My living room is part of an L-shaped open floor plan and even my SVS PB 1000 Pro on my current 5.2 system has a hard time filling in all the nulls in the room. I may be forced to “downgrade to a soundbar” if I want to fit a bigger tv in the 4 piece entertainment center.

Was able to steal the q990d for $800 and the qn85 for $2700 using PerkSpot.. Just waiting on Samsung to deliver it in a few days. This will be a huge step from listening to the tv speakers. I may have to rewatch Band of Brothers or something like Twister to get immersed in it.

I ‘ve just listened to Samsung Q990D and JBL Bar 1300, and I prefer JBL bar 1300 as it’s subwoofer creates more powerful bass to enjoy any action movies

Thanks for the review. For me, the only negative side of the Samsung system is that they offer everything but I think it is a much better option when you can step-by-step build your home system like Sonos, first, you can buy a soundbar then add Sub and see if it is perfect for you and if it is perfect than no need to buy rear speakers but when you decide to level up your system later you can buy rear speakers too but in this case, you want it or not it comes with everything. also, I agree with you and sometimes I can not understand the stupid politics of brands. why you are not offering for example white version, I think a lot of people will agree that from an aesthetic point of view for home design interior, it will be a beautiful option to have different color options. and the weird thing is that in this big company, there are a lot of clever people marketing specialists, and so on who know better than we that color option will be nice but somehow they continue not to offer that option.

I bought it recently since watching this review and Im impressed. The UK Version does not have an HDMI Cable or Toslink in the box. Music is good, still room for imprevement. Base is good and room for improvement. Im comparing to headphones or earbuds as I can hear more sharper Base. Paired with the LG 55 Inch OLED55C44LA and the Soundbar is as long as the TV. This set up is as good as the Cinema. Even better if you have an LG OLED65 or more.

I had the Q990B and to be honest was not impressed maybe i had it set up wrong but i found the sub lacking and the rears to be almost non existence so i sold it then got the BOSE 900 its pretty good but still is missing something so i am gonna give Sonos a try gonna start with the BEAM 2 + Sub Mini + ERA 100s its for a 12x14 foot room with 7.5 foot ceiling if i am still not satisfied i will try the ARC ULTRA + Gen 4 Sub + ERA 100s or the ERA 300s hopefully i can find my happy space lol great review cheers from Canada

La consulta es el soundbar tiene todos los hdmi 2.1 para dolby atmos TRUE HD. Ya que tengo el SAMSUNG Q930C con HDMI eARC y un HDMI 2.0, lo conecto a mi placa de Pc ASUS MAXIMUS Z790 HERO EVA 02, tiene HDMI 2.0. Me reconoce el Dolby Atmos con el reproductor del FAB PLAYER para dts x y Atmos. El detalle es que cuando reproduzco el Bluray digital de musica de Bryan Adams en concierto en center hall, le pongo DOLBY ATMOS 7.1, el soundbar lo reconoce y marca dolby atmos. Ahora es bajo lo que se escucha, es como si tuviera compresión, un DOLBY ATMOS digital plus quer son con perdida. Al alzarlo el volumen, se escucha mejor los detalles de la guitarra, bateria, vocalizacion, etc. En conclusion he llegado a que la placa no tiene dolby atmos y el hdmi es 2.0 y soundbar con hdmi 2.0, por lo cual me da un DOLBY ATMOS CON PERDIDA dolby digital. Te agradeceria si haces la prueba en otro video.

Great vid! I just purchased this and had a question if you know...If using an AppleTV (newest gen 4k) ... is it best for the ATV to be plugged directly into the Soundbar then the Soundbard to the TV for best sound? Or does it not matter if the ATV is in, say, HDMI1, and Soundbar in HDMI (Arc)?

I returned the JBL 1300X for this and although the 990Ds satellite speakers are superior, the JBLs bass is way better (IMO). Im seriously considering returing the 990D for the JBL.

Guys pl try Bose ultra sound bar with Sub 700, it also blow your mind-PUNCH. Its Rear speakers for dolby atmos are not great!!. but it still blows out & its Wireless. I stay in USA, checked Samsung, Sony only thing near or equal to bose is Sonos Arc Ultra. Bose looks great if your buy White or Black, its elegant & has punch pack with AI to enhance dialogues

Ill be very real with anyone looking to purchase this sounder system. One word...Trash! The version I have is the HW-N950 same, same. Those small speakers are barely audible in the sound system. And that *ATMOS* sound was NEVER heard in my setup. I would look for something better if your really trying to get a theater sound in your video room.

Was thinking of the arc ultra but this thing seems to be a bit better for the buck cuz you get the base and rear speakers for the same money. One question are the rears Bluetooth or wired connection. Think I will go with samsung.

Samsung soundbars have a chronic issue. In many cases volume goes up to max by itself. It appears in various models and cannot be fixed. I had experienced the exact same problem 3 days after purchasing my brand new hw-q800D. A lot of money straight to thrash

Had Q990C for 2 years paired with PC, PS4/5 on 4k PJ and 150” screen, Q990D = Q990C + hdmi 2.1(4k @ 120hz), Q990F = Q990D in darker color. Save $ and get C — not going to miss anything

Samsung tvs are not that great, dont care for their os, their soundbar is loud but subwoofer lacks sound and bass was not impressed, popular for its ecosystem is not enough
Hopefully their q990f is more top notch than these.
Bass is better with sonos arc ultra and the bose smart ultra with its bass module 700 subwoofer

Excelent video! I have an old LG TV, but Im buying this soundbar anyway for future upgrading my TV as well. I guess the Atmos will work even connected to the old TV, cause Ill plug in the FireStick 4k (Atmos Codec available) straight to the soundbar hdmi port. Hope I not wrong and it works well

The difference in power, sound, and subwoofer power between the Samsung Q930 and the 990D is huge. Is it worth spending another $400? The C models dont have them.
