In this video, we looking at the CineSticks from ScottyMakesStuff. These CineSticks are available for multiple controllers including the new DJI RC for the DJI Mini 3 Pro. In addition, they have a set for the DJI RC Pro, the DJI RCN1 controller, and many others. The way these cinesticks work is by adding resistance to the control sticks when you are trying to fly cinematically helping reduce unwanted inputs from random jitters or hand movements. You can increase the tension or resistance by tightening the thumb screw. I have been using these for a couple of weeks and have been really enjoying them. Thanks Shawn, great video! I saw these on Ken Herron’s channel with Scotty himself showing them off. I went to their site and ultimately did not purchase. After watching your video I am encouraged that this is a good product. I am going to purchase a pair for my DJI RC.

I actually don’t use the sticks at all. I get better control by just using the remote like a trackball with my thumbs.

I owned a pair of the first gen. The build quality was top notch and they performed well. I ultimately got rid of them because I felt it was too difficult to move the sticks in case of an emergency in flight. I wish DJI would bring back tripod mode (which they probably won’t) or allow us to really tweak the settings for the sticks. Great video, cheers

As an RC pilot for many years. you’ll find that if you use your thumbs only the sticks will move in an arc. It’s better for control if you hold the stick with finger and thumb - gripping the controller with remaining there fingers. The dji controllers are pretty thin so its easy to hold. It’s well worth learning to hold the controller that way.
I do like the looks of the cinesticks thanks for that.

I got the v1 of these and am totally unimpressed. They do not come apart like the ones you show and are a real pain to even screw on. In my bag but largely unusable.

Thanks, looks interesting however, I already have some extended sticks which perform a similar function in slowing down movement, so will hold off for now as I tend to buy on impulse then never use things. The next time I fly with the RC Pro I will decide if I need more resistance.

Why not just go into settings and fine tune down input there? No need for another set of sticks. One setting for normal and sport.

After recent firmware updated my Mini 3 pro. I can not move left sight or right side. I can move only backward and forward. Do you know any solution. Please advice

I purchased a set for the DJIRC and I really don’t think I’m going to use them. It does give pretty good resistance to slow things down however the plastic tops won’t screw on level and tilt on an angle because it’s just screwing into plastic and not a threaded sleeve. Just makes it feel awkward to use them.

Hmm. I had a similar idea for this, but instead of GIANT sticks, I just wanted nubs. MUCH MUCH shorter sticks. Would do the same type of thing. WIth my DJI Mini 2, I actually went and bought short screw from Lowes and used them. But with the Mini 3, they screwed that up.

I love my cine sticks but have a problem
every time i put them on my rc controller of my mini3pro drone
i have to reset my stick calibration
because the cine sticks are on--they do not callibrate properly -and i cannot take off! error message
i take the sticks off, then calibrate ---all good
put the sticks back on --and the error comes up again and I cannot take off!! :( :(

I just learned the thumb + forefinger pinch technique in my drone class. Seems to give way more control !
