If ur going to try and pronounce italian words in Italian, then pronounce gnocchi properly as well and not like americans. The "o" is pronounced as in "box" not as in "home".

My great-great-grandmother Leopolda’s recipe book has a personal gnocchi sauce that calls for a 7oz can of crushed tomatoes, a 4oz stick of butter, and at least 1/2 cup of parmesan or trentingrana, simmered until combined, for every 3 or 4 servings

hey! so - I know you dont want to use fancy equipment - but there are a bunch of people out there that bought a juicer a while back and that thing is now usually gathering dust on a back shelf. I use one to make gnocchi and bavarian potato dumplings (really, these are just bigger gnocchi) and it works great! You juice the potatoes, and then just use the pulp! (Remember to allow the "juice" to settle for a bit, and then take out the sediment at the bottom and add it to the pulp. This is not just gunk - it is the majority of the starch - and this is what holds the gnocchi or knödel together!) Doing this makes making these for large numbers of people quick and painless!

My gnocchi recipie is way easier: 60/40 (pref unflavoured) instant mash and plain flour then you can add egg yolks and some water or even just water if you cant be bothered or have dietary requirements
