You say Pierce the thread. Do you mean going between the 2 threads or actually piercing one of the threads?

You don’t seem to have any problem piercing your Aida. I struggle piercing AND trying to get my needle in the middle of the stitch. Can you offer any advice please? Also do you use a tapestry needle when you pierce? Thank you.

Why so many pin stitches, it seems like a longer process than necessary. Why not just use the loop stitch if you are using two strands of floss/
